Sourcelight Photo Workshops is a series of instructional seminars designed to improve your technical skills and spark your creative ability with a camera. In an intensive, small-group environment, our seminars combine exclusive information on pro techniques, procedures, and concepts with extensive, hands-on shooting opportunities and personal coaching for each participant.
MASTERY SERIES−CAMERA & SHOOTING SKILLS
A relaxed and informative 4-hour workshop for the emerging photographer who has moved from a basic point-and-shoot camera to the complexity of a digital SLR. Beginning with a basic introduction to the camera, including file formats, ISO, white balance, exposure modes, metering, focus, and drive modes, the workshop also combines straight-forward instruction on how to set “The Triangle of Exposure” (aperture, shutter speed, and ISO) with easy-to-understand explanations on how the various settings and lens choices affect the look of your image. Designed especially for photographers with little or no experience working with the nude human form, The Formal Nude is a unique all-day workshop opportunity for up to 3 students to explore formal nude photography with guidance from an experienced instructor and professional fine-art nude photographer. In a simple, non-intimidating studio environment, students learn to create classic bodyscape compositions that feature the lines, surfaces, and curves of the nude human form, plus a second session on the formal nude portrait. In addition to technical instruction in composition, lighting, and equipment usage, students learn how to develop a concept and communicate it clearly and effectively in order to work with and direct the model.
